As has been described in a couple (poorly titled) threads over the last few months:

Instant notifications (which includes PMs) are only working for part of the day, generally from about 1:30 am eastern until early afternoon on weekdays, late afternoon/early evening on weekends.

Daily subscriptions (either for threads or forums) do not work at all

Weekly subscriptions (for threads or forums) work fine



Admin knows about the problem, but as yet we do not have a solution. I have recently taken to checking my subscribed threads via my UserCP when I visit the site, and it works alright, but I would much rather have instant notices back.
