a used Camry or Accord, you could drive those forever. I see them on the road all over the place.
And you don't have to take some long week vacation with your dad. Make it a long weekend. I don't know his health, but spending that extra time in the car is good too, along with the vacation. Eating out, seeing places you two have never seen... things like that make it more special in the long run.
