The SS and Impala are not even close to each other in similarities. I have a new Impala 3.6 and it's a fantastic car... with different tires from the originals, it handles so well it defies logic- better than my Audi A6 with sport suspension. It's fast, quiet and even the stereo is fantastic. Love everything about it.
Put the 3.6 in a Cruze and you'd have a super sleeper. One of my techs is hooking up a sleeper stock appearing Sonic turbo for autocross. Same engine as the Cruze but in a smaller package.
