The examples posted are all Global Ranger. Which currently rides on the T6 platform, along with Ford Everest. T6 debuted in 2010, these new offerings Ranger and Bronco will most likely ride on T6's replacement. Something akin to F-150's frame at 70-80%.

This being the case Bronco's prospects of coming back more in the vein of the 1st gen, '66-'77, are quite high and that idea alone has me a bit giddy. The full size Broncos were ok, but they never seemed to have the same je ne sais quoi. This sizeing would allow it to more directly compete with Wrangler, which has gone too long without direct competition.

I'd imagine Ranger's engine line up would be geared heavily towards fuel economy, to better set Ranger apart from F-150. Perhaps something like:
Base----------------------- 1.6EB I4 -- 197hp/214tq
Top Standard trim-- 2.3EB I4 -- 310hp/320tq
Diesel--------------------- 3.2PS I5 -- 197hp/350tq

A Hi-Po option in the form of the 2.7EB tuned to 370hp/390tq could be done pretty easily I must imagine.
