I personally never had a single issue with changing out spark plugs on both my 2007 Blown 3V or my 2005 Blown 3V. I used Autolite HT0's which were still 2-piece plugs and not a single one after about 10 changes between both cars were done. I think it is really user error most times.
I would soak my plugs in penetrating oil for a good 20 minutes to help loosen up any dirt to reduce tension while attempting removal of the plugs. Then slow turns with minimal pressure to get it loose. Plugs are not perfect, but, I believe it is one of those things that needs to be done very carefully.
