This covers the 3v's craptastic 2-piece plugs that were over torqued into the heads from the factory. They had a tendency to snap in half upon removal. Happened so often Ford had a tool specifically designed to remove the broken plug halfs from the head.
They weren't over torqued, carbon deposits would get on the long tip of the plug and cause it to stick in the head. Fords tool was a joke and half the time it didn't work. Lisle makes a tool that works but it breaks the porcelain off into the cylinder.

The trick to getting the plugs out is to get the engine hot and use a 3/8 impact gun and they'll come right out. De carbonizing the engine with a can of sea foam also helps.
