Morgan is the humanity/voice of reason to play off of Rick's "Shane-ness" tendencies. He's going to be the more even-tempered one. Rick still has his inner-conflicts of wanting to be hopeful about civilization yet ready to do what must be done to survive.

And yes, they use "Morley" cigs vs. Marlboro. They look the same in packaging though. Go figure.
