Not for a customer to unplug...lol....as I said in the first line of my post, I meant for GM to do it on a test car...
I'm sure GM has done plenty of testing on the engine without any nannies on, and that's how they came up with the limp mode after a certain time because they realized without it the engine would most likely melt.

But I just didn't see where it ran poorly before the limp-mode started....Maybe it did....but I didn't notice where it was stated that heat-soak was the actual problem, it was just assumed because it went into limp-mode and even then went into limp mode before any performance loss was noticed....
It didn't run poorly because the engine was still operating at the right temp.

The limp mode was put in to save from the heatsoak, but it's not like if you remove the limp mode the car will all of a sudden feel like a beast. It still has to deal with the heatsoak itself. It may be premature sure.

The point is, whether you have the engine with limp mode ON but operating at 200* or you have the car with limp mode OFF but operating at 260* is the same thing.

The limp mode is not the problem, it's the cooling. Once the cooling issues are fixed, then it will perform. Until then, whether or not you go into this limp mode is meaningless. The engine will still under-perform simply because it overheats.
