People usually state if they are willing to trade for something in their original post. If someone has an interest in a particular item and wanted to trade for it instead of paying cash, they usually send a private PM (as with most offers).
Your other option is to simply create a new thread with items you have and state that you "want to trade for: x, y, or z"
