That is a good reason then.
Handicap spaces were created for those that have difficulty traveling on foot for greater than average/normal distances. Not for people that are able to travel normally without being in unbearable pain or discomfort.
I've had heart and breathing problems, yet, still walked several hundred feet from parking spaces to the stores. I'm not dead and don't see a reason why I need special treatment to be able to park right in front of the store.
