I've owned 3 first year cars now (2010 Camaro SS, 2012 Sonic LTZ and 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51). The LTZ was the most trouble free of the three with no incidents in the year I owned it. My Camaro really only had one issue in the 2 years I owned it, and that was when a fusebox got corroded and caused my engine to not fire in 1-2 cylinders...was fixed quickly under warranty). I already detailed my issues with the Stingray which were pretty minor.
Over similar periods of time, I've owned other new cars (Impala & Lumina) that had as many, if not more issues over time...and they were not first-run cars.
