Seriously. ~5 months after I joined, my typing speed near tripled!
That is funny, if my typing speed tripled, I'd be at 3 words per minute...

On the resume side: I recommend that you develop a couple of resumes. Tailor them toward different types of potential employers.
Example: Walmart greeter... not so technical. Civilian Tech Rep... very tech.
Anyway hopefully, you get the point.
If you are soon to be 'separated' how soon? I may have missed that post...
Anyway, it could give you time to set yourself up... If you are at least E5 and have some college (other than MIL) several colleges work well with MIL. and will max your electives out for Navy schools etc. And if you take the right 5 CLEP exams ( math, english, science, etc) and take about 5 classes with a select school for Residency, you can earn an Associates Degree in under a year, depending on your specific situation. Is there a Columbia College on your base? The new GIB can also be used for trade (vocational) schools, which can be a few - several months... If you get a med sep are you getting a sep compensation pkg or ???? I lost a couple of Staff SGT Marines due to their knees.... about $35k back in 1999 or so. That could hold you over while you get smart

how is your Career Counselor? working for you? or too busy? I used to be Div CC, 00-03? or so. if you have any specific ???? let me know.
