I just wish they'd go back to "stock" cars. And like others said, throw in some short tracks and let 'em bump elbows. Back in the day, you could watch 'em run on Sunday, then go buy a car on Monday, and it was a whole lot like the car you saw winning on TV. Even if it wasn't a race car, you could at least have fun teasing your buddies when Ford was losing.
I remember when Buddy Baker went to driving a Ford. A good friend of mine was a big Buddy Baker fan and we teased the heck out of him. Meanwhile Dale Earnhardt was kicking his rear in that black #3 Chevy. My buddy was living in Atlanta and we'd call him every time Buddy Baker wrecked...lol... And you could go buy a car that at least looked the same. More important, you could tell the cars apart on the track. Now they all look alike. Somehow, they took the fun out racing.
Now days, there is probably not even one "stock" screw or bolt on the race cars. I don't even know why they call it stock car racing anymore.
