Still making epic road trip plans. Here is my preliminary itinerary;
Sunday - Towson, Maryland to Lexington, Kentucky - Should be about 8 hours and 544 miles.
Monday - Lexington, Kentucky to Springfield, Missouri - Should be another 8 hours and 551 miles
Tuesday - Springfield to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - Interstate travel should be 4 hours and 350 miles, but I plan to detour off onto Rt 66. I will probably visit a friend in Mustang, OK.
Wednesday - OKC to Albuquerque, NM - this will be a long drive through a whole lot of nothing on I40. Lots of nice scenery, but not much civilization. Should be about 7.5 hours and 541 miles.
Thursday - Albuquerque to home. I'll be in familiar territory and I'm sure I will detour off the interstates for more scenic drives.
Gotta be home Thursday night because my son has a dentist appointment Friday to remove his wisdom teeth.

I am from Edmond OK just N of OKC and on Rt 66. It's hard to follow in some areas, but I've done some of it on HRPT. There are some neat places on Rt 66 in Pontiac, IL and others I can't really remember all of them offhand. There's a "new place" on Rt 66 east of Edmond called Pops. Kinda interesting just to look in there. Another neat place we came across was Seaba Station near Chandler OK. Has a really cool motorcycle museum. Have fun on your very own Hot Rod Power Tour. Next week people will be traveling to CamaroFest, as well as the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, KY, you'll be there early, but likely to see a few hot rods.
