I fly for an ultra high net worth family. There are three pilots, one director of maintenance and one jet.

In the past I have flown for a crappy charter outfit, flew Boeing jets at an airline (furloughed), NetJets (furloughed), a reputable management/charter company, and finally, my current Part 91 job.

I agree that anyone wanting a career in aviation should learn as much as possible. Most jobs out there have good and bad parts that have to be balanced against the quality of life, pay and equipment that one wants to achieve. One size certainly does not fit all!
