Too bad for the kid,he had his last "Oh Shit" moment sliding toward that tree.

I used to street race as a teen into my 20's,30's and into my 40's.

I have not street raced since I was 45 when I met my current GF.

She wants me to have fun but at the track.

We now we have very tough seizure and suspension laws up here.

I'm sure we've all got "war stories" we could tell, but there is no sense in that. It was dumb 30 years ago too.

I think the best thing anyone could do is take a young person to the strip. If you know someone young who is into cars, (and I don't care if they are a "ricer" or whatever) ... take them to the strip and let them experience the real thing. So many kids watch Fast and Furious and Street Outlaws and think that's the right way to do things.. and it's not.

The drag strip is a ton of fun, and there is no question about who won or lost. It's easy - you pay $20, fill out some papers and run all night. No cops! I promise, any young person would love it and probably go back with friends. You'll be doing the kid a favor and hot rodding a favor.

But that's just my opinion, I'm just an old guy who likes to go fast. Maybe I'm too old to have any sense? Anyways, I feel sorry for the parents.
