My point is that it can't look like any of those cars if it looks like all of them. Its a contradiction in logic. Car A cannot look like Car B & C & D & E & F & G when cars B, C, D, E, F, & G do not look like each other. It can't be had both ways. Either it looks like 1 of them, or it looks like none of them. It cannot look like all of them, because they are different. The most likely scenario, from simple statistics, is that it looks like none of them. Therefore, it IS unique and the design team did break new ground as they did not copy it from anyone. And if you want to say that they took bits and pieces from everyone, then the combination is still unique. Either way, its not stolen, copied, or ripped off.

Lets say 2 cars have a character line on the side of the body. Seems like to a lot of people in this thread, the mere existence of that feature on both cars would be justification to claim that one stole it from the other. But that doesn't mean they are the same. In general, you can have it go straight, or angle up, or angle down, or curve, or have a dip, or a peak, or a zig-zag. On the ones that change direction it can start early or late, be gradual or sharp. The entire line can be subtle or very pronounced, or transition from subtle to pronounced (or vice cersa). I'm sure I'm missing a few variations on character lines, but I think you get the point. And that is 1 singular feature. Each car has countless features, and the details of each feature differentiate even the most similar of cars.

And its funny you should mention the Corvette & Impala. Because they borrowed cues from other cars as well. Namely their 1960s predecessors. Do they look the same as the old ones? Absolutely not. But the new Cruze doesn't look the same as all those other cars people have mentioned either.
