Drilling for gas would take years and will pretty much entirely go to the Chinese and Indians anyway.

The fact is $4+ gas is changing America, and for the better. Our roads are less congested. Our air quality is better. We're commuting together. Small local businesses are getting an advantage over distant large companies. Most importantly, American businesses are developing new efficient and clean transportation and energy solutions in the greatest wave of innovation this country has seen in years. Bring on the $5 gas I say.

Fears about GM going bankrupt are far overblown, however. At the rate they're burning cash now they'll make it through 2009, and in 2010 the cost savings from the new union contracts kick in and a ton of fuel efficient new models hit the market. GM stocks are a fantastic value buy right now. When I sell my Olds a lot of that money is buying GM stock and it will make a nice down payment on my Camaro in a few years.

This is simply fear mongering to drive media viewership, support friends with short positions, and get B. Hussein Obama in the White House. Nothing more.
Everyone is entitled to there opinion. We live in Country where we are able to say things with out reprocussion and descrimination. I auplaud you in what your say.

BUT.... I have to disagree in a couple of areas. I do agree about the fear mongering. I couldn't a imagine a worse decision than to vote in a democrat at this point. GM always goes through these problems. However, gas at 5 bucks is going to destroy the economy. I was worng in thinking the gas problem couldn't get any worse. Here's the thing, Gas make many things in the world go round. Gas effects food prices, energy prices, even prices on electronics and building supplies. The higher the gas, the lest cars are baught, the less cars baught, the less people will commute to got to work, less people going to work,(unemployment goes up) the more wellfare goes up, the more wellfare goes up, the more taxes we pay, the more taxes we pay, the less money we have to spend, the less money we have to spend we don't buy anything other than what we need, there goes your retail stores and there goes your auto industy which is the back bone of this nation. There goes our American Image of fast cars, open roads, and tourist industry. $5 gas means bad bad news. We can't keep up with the rise. We need to drill, we need to produce E85, we need to get to Circuit City, we need to get to Best Buy, we need to get the mall, the movies, the restaurants, the resorts. We need gas to get there, I'd rather pay $4 for corn than gas. More Nuclear power plants. Less congestion means that there are more unemployed people. Nuff said.

Chevy many need to change a few things. Such as make the hybrid Tahoes and yukons less expensive, get rid of the mini-van, and make pick-ups more strip down to cut the price and use AFM. And were they not the first Auto manufacturer to propose flex fuel vehicles? I mean just because its always GM that we hear about, Don't you think Dodge and Ford and going through this too?

Out duty as Americans is that we need t get educated on what will help and what will hurt us. Also buy American products such as American Cars Such as CAMAROS!

I believe we CAN safely drill for oil from the Gulf and Alaska and we could get this under controll in the next 3 years tops. I believe that we can increase the prouction for corn for gas and food. And you know what all this does as well????? Come in people!!!!??? Do you know what a new energy race will do for this country!!!!???? JOBS!!!!! Famrers, engineers!!! Scientists! Remember that there are AMERICAN Oil companies too that people can buy stock in.

I think we should rally to buy stock in GM now since it is so low. It will instill faith that this will pass. But not if we sit back and say you want to bring our country to a stand still by not using gas. I don't know where you guys are from but I'm in fricking grid-lock all the time. People has to get to work. In FL, everthing is far. But, this

Vote McCain!
