If true there is more to this story.

The LS7, LS9 and the LS3, all with dry sump oiling, were all very expensive hand built engines. The LS7 and LS9 carried 5 figure premiums over the LS3 as crate engines.

Yes, possible they could have continued to develop the engine. Yes, it's possible it can meet future emissions. And yes, it's possible they are now mass producing it without a dry sump to get the costs way down. The last of those is more likely to be needed than the first two for this rumor to be true. Me? I wouldn't pay $80,000 for an LS7 powered ATS-V+ when for the same money you can get an LT4 powered CTS- V.

A better guess for the + would be a 200 pound weight reduction and for $5,000 add CC brakes.
