LOL -- Naw, this forum has been great, The Viz, and all of the folks in this thread, all been great. My deal started off well, dealer seemed like a straight shooter, said he could get it in 6-8 weeks because the dealership had such high sales and they had allocations, which I only knew about because a couple of other dealers I had called first said they had none, or they could only order the 2SS.
After that it went down hill fast, after 6 weeks I asked for status, they had none, later I called the GM Customer Service who let me know I needed an Order number, that took 4 months to get from my dealer. Finally I start getting status and an TPW and now my date is sliding.
I guess there is still more about the "system" I don't know about, I see most in the 3800 tracking thread with orders places 6-8 weeks ago with steady TPW, steady progression through the codes, no such luck on mine.
I can only guess that my order is some kind of "standby" or placeholder in case a slot opens or some such thing, I thought at 3000 it would be clear sailing, so this was not real welcome news.
Given that I have no clue what will happen next, like 9/21 rolls up and it is 10/21, 11/21... I am not sure I have many options, start from scratch for another Camaro from another dealer, but I don't see how that buys me anything but the risk of the same thing happening. The other option is to get something else and just wait until the Camaro is available off the lot a couple of years from now and decide then.
