Anyways, Cadi is not going to steal any BMW customers im sure. When you buy an M car you are buying into the brand and pedigree as much as you're buying into the actual car. Cadi can compete and out compete the M car thats true. It can also persuade new buyers in the segment with purchasing the Cadi over the M car but they will NEVER be able to steal exisiting M car owners im sure.
I'm living evidence to the contrary. Owned an E60 M5 and was ready to drop six figures on an F10 M5...until I drove it. BMW lost its way after the E60, and subsequently lost a customer to Cadillac. The V2 sedan is what the F10 should have been - a drivers car, not a luxo barge 7 series with piped in engine sounds.

The reviews and comments from the auto rags have been lukewarm toward the F80, especially in steering feel and engagement. It's not the drivers car of its predecessors. Given it was only 4 seconds faster around VIR grand west than the outgoing V2 sedan, with newer tires, post-repave and widening, I hesitate to say the Bavarian's have made significant progress on the track that Cadillac can't easily overcome.

Yes the M3/4 will outsell the ATS-V on name recognition, but I doubt it will be the better performance car.
