I think the writing is on the wall. I personally wouldn't miss him, and I don't care about the franchise's success/failure without him. I can understand the enthusiasm behind it, but I believe the petition will turn out to be a useless gesture in the end.

The other two presenters- who are best friends with each other and Clarkson- have stated that they will not be renewing their contracts with the show. All three contracts expire at the end of this month.
