You'd be surprised. The guys on the forums keep them forever after lift kits and other goodies. A good truck is forever, but how many truck owners seem to have stock trucks on the road? Those guys aren't that attached, and they trade as often as car owners.
Don't get me wrong. I don't like seeing the warranty go down either. I'm just making the case that GM as a business has to be competitive. Having the best warranty is an unnecessary cost, as proven by competitors with less inclusive or shorter warranties.
