Yes, if you buy any product a longer warranty is certainly better. But when making a decision the key is "is your warranty the same as others I am considering?". In this case, yes.

What none of us see is the big picture behind the curtain. A 100,000 mile warranty costs GM MORE $$$ than their key competitors, Honda, Toyota and Ford. And offering more mileage was not getting GM any more sales or profits compared to those competitors.

The customers have spoken and this is a non-issue. The problem is that general problem where "we" assume that we represent all the other customers. So I agree, for some this matters. There just aren't enough of you buying GM cars and trucks because of the 100,000 mile warranty to change the data.
Well , Than why did GM give the 5 /100k mile warranty in the first place? GM should be about keeping their customers not just their money because most ppl on the forum has more than one GM car ! I see GM losing more customers than gaining because of this and this should be the big question. But I'm sure GM will go bad to the 5/ 100k mile warranty once they see sales start to go down, especially from the construction and other businesses that buy a fleet of trucks for work.
