I used the Powertrain warranty at 99,000 mile to repair the well documented oil pan/front cover leak. Yes, that would have been a BIG deal w/o the warranty.

103K on the '10 SS currently.
292K on the '07 Sierra company truck.

All reflects on how GM's drivetrain quality is perceived.

If they are, indeed building a quality product, the 100K mi. warranty should only make them look even more confident in their product, therefore generate more sales.

Honda and Toyota don't need a "wow' warranty, because customers are confident in the quality of their product. GM still has to earn that reputation in certain areas.
