I don't think it effects the average Joe who gets a new car every 4-5 years but what about the work truck guys? My uncle had a 2012 Econoline van as his work van, transmission blew at 66k miles. For guys like him who put 20k miles a year on there trucks a 100k mile warranty is a big draw.
