Definitely will hurt sales. Think of the average car buyer who doesn't know a thing about their car, that rely on these warranties.

Will make them wonder, gee what does GM have to hide that makes them want to slash their warranty mileage almost in half?

Definitely does not look good at all.

Look at the highest rated comment with the most positive replies.

That is absolutely a ridiculous reason for cutting the warranty period back from 100,000 miles to 60,000 miles, because GM interviewed or polled buyers and "the customers said that was not a tipping point for them to buy a new vehicle" ..bologna!!....The real reason is that 100,00 mile powertrain warranty which covers the engine and transmission is costing GM mega bucks in repairs and more than likely failure in vehicles starting at 60,000 plus miles. So now making the factory warranty end at 60,000 miles the owners are responsible for any and all repairs. That 100,00 mile warranty was ABSOLUTELY a selling point for buyers, and now that GM is dropping the coverage to just 60,000 miles will only make potential buyers, including myself run to other car manufacturers who still offer the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. Who was the genius behind this move.
I think this right here is going to be a key component to future sales as a whole. Someone like Ford who offers these things.

Someone like Ford for example...
