Don't forget the black Hellcat has already run 10:40s although it popped a driveshaft trying to better that number. I'm pretty sure this is why this particular car is sticking with the 555rs in fear of a driveshaft failure.

Rangers 10.7@130mph run with a C6 Z06 was stock with C5 z06 rear wheels and drag radials. It still had stock front wheels/tires as you can see in the video. The rear wheel/tire weight is definitly lighter than the stock 19" with heavy run flats but other than that no weight reduction.
Bone stock time for the C6 Z06 is 10.98@128.9 done by Jamie Furman. No weight reduction, stock wheels/tires, stone stock.
The Corvette has no driveshaft and unless the drivetrain in a C7 Z06 is weaker than a C6 Z06 no A8 Z06 is going to break anything with stock power and even full on slicks unless there was a mfg problem to begin with or the driver was stupid not letting out of wheel hop. To many automatic Vettes running around with 600RWHP+ and a stock C6 Z06 drivetrain pulling 1.4 60fts to make me think otherwise. Now a M7 Z06 might have some problems with too much traction. Hell even the stock L99 drivetrain has lived at 9 second 1\4mile times and 1.4 60fts and I'm sure a C7 Z06 drivetrain is stronger than that. I highly doubt anything in the drivetrain is the weak link with that car. The tune, cooling and oiling? Now that's another issue. Thought we would be seeing 135mph+ trap speeds and bottom 10's out of the new Z06 and that doesn't seem to likely now.
