It depends,

On a car with suspension designed for drag racing it's possible with less power.

I an a stock suspension Camaro that tips the scales at over 4000 pounds with the driver it takes a lot more. Look at one of the fastest NA Camaro on here from Texas. His car is 300 pounds lighter and is knocking on the 11 zone with no major mods.
My car has a bunch of mods and is in the 11's Their car runs 112 MPH and mine has to have the power to run 118 to get into the 11's

On a car I used to race several years ago we ran just in the nines with 650 at the crank at 3250 pounds. That was with slicks and a good suspension.

To get the Camaro to do that at 4000+ pounds will take 800+.

Gear availability and tire selection also limit what can be done.

We will prolly go to an automatic to help the launch. We still want to retain the stock rear axle.

We will be at the LSX Shootout in October at Memphis Motorsport Park.

We don't want to strip the car and ruin the looks, stock appearing is where it's at.
