Take it from someone who used to work at a Toyota dealership: The problems you're having with your Vette make it a lemon. Being used, you simply don't know what the previous owner did to it. And being that your newest car is 8 years old, you have to understand age does impact cars. It won't be as reliable as a new car. Now if it was a Toyota on the other hand, you'd be getting off light. I worked at the dealership during the summer of endless recalls. If you can go a month without taking a newer Toyota in to get fixed, you're very lucky. My grandma insisted on buying one on my discount against my warnings because she was told Toyotas were high quality and reliable. Her car goes in to the shop every few weeks with a computer problem now.
I hate to be blunt, but judging a product coming out a year from now based on an 8 year old previously used product is as illogical as it gets. Likewise, judging another company based on their reputation from 8 years ago (when they really did represent quality) only sets you up for disappointment.
