I was at Laguna Seca on saturday helping my bro race his shifter kart and there was a 10 min session with electric karts. If you're a die hard nascar guy, imagine before the race they ran electric nascars. Sadly this might be the future. Maybe not for nascar but for other automotive sports.

We had a guy here at Summit Point do a demonstration lap of his electric race car, basically a converted Spec Racer Ford. It was almost mind numbingly boring watching the thing. Other than tire squeal, there was no sound at all coming from the track or car. Very boring to watch. Driving it on the other hand was very fun! Without engine noise you could focus much more on the interaction between the tires and track surface.
Still doesn't change the experience from a fan perspective though.
