This is exactly what would happen:
Ford caves in to pressure and releases GT350R time that is better than Z/28 (hypothetically)
"Big deal it beat a last gen platform on its way out"
"Yeah but I bet it wasn't stock"
Stuff like that.
It's a lose/lose for Ford to release times and all it will do is muddy the waters.
