I most likely do what our state Driving Instruction manual states, which is to increase following distance between me and the vehicle in front of me. If I can't move right to let them pass, then this is the safest thing to do.
I won't say I've never buried the brake pedal into the carpet. Doing that is less tempting than it used to be in my younger days...it only escalates the situation...sometimes it's just better to relax and get to where you're going, instead of being right and causing an accident!
