Pretty sure GM already confirmed that their next Full size trucks are going aluminum.

They do. Not sure that's going to happen though.
I'll be interested to see if the 2.7L EcoBoost + aluminum body does anything for the F-series in the real world.

Take it for what is worth, from what I have been reading on forums from the people that have driven the 2.7 the trip computer has shown anywhere from 23-26MPG on the highway. MT got a combined 19MPG, and 22MPG on the hwy in their 4x4, compared to the 20MPG combined and 24MPG on the highway for the Colorado 4x4 v6. Thats a full size truck thats more capable that is almost as efficient. (in the same article the Silverado 5.3 got 19HWY and 15 combined)
Now I am still very curious to see more real world results. But everyone that has driven the 2.7 says it is extremely impressive in how much power it has, but not many have had enough time to really see how the MPG is.
