They claimed the Z/28 was one of the benchmarked cars during testing. Whether or not they can run with or beat the Z at the track is another story.
I have to agree with another comment I read elsewhere....in that in meany ways this car sounds like more of a ZL1 competitor than a Z/28. Mag ride, all the creature comforts, no real claim of weight reduction (yet), and Brembo cross drilled brakes. I'm not saying that I don't think this car will give the Z/28 a run for its money at all, but it is very compariable to the ZL1 in this respects.
I feel like this car will end up somewhere between the track capabilities of the ZL1 and the Z/28. Just my wild early estimate.
