Bruce Gray, the Yoda of the Sig, says to use grease. It's not that much of an issue on all stainless steel Sig pistols, but needed on alloy framed ones.

P226, is a little longer barreled version of one of the greatest fighting weapons ever made: the P228
The P226 also has easy caliber swaps if you have the .40 or .357 SIG model. You are VERY prepared with that P226.
