Blows up about having to take anti-blowup meds....ironic, isn't it?
If you're not living at home (which you shouldn't be), then it's your house, your rules and you don't have to hear any of it. But if you're living at home or with other relatives (i.e., not paying for rent) then that's part of family life. I think you may only be taking a myopic viewpoint. Try to think about WHY they may see it as a waste of money? Sometimes they do rag on you, but usually it's because they think they're trying to help. If they truly are against you, then consider a change of venue.
You can't pick your relatives. And if you're going to "dis-own" them, then think carefully about whether the situation is bad enough to break down family ties. You just may need each other again one day.
