I was able to view the eclipse (using some strong filters... the sunspots intrigued me more so than did the moon passing in front... I don't think I have ever seen sunspots before... other than on my great aunt Gertrude's neck.

Yeah these are huge, 80,000 miles across and the largest seen since 1990, a huge solar flare erupted Friday morning around 5 am EST making that hole even bigger now..
Those spots just forming on Tuesday when I was testing my equipment to make sure it worked for Thursday:
