I am a 16 years in the field scientist in Molecular Biology and have used various virus vectors for all kinds of work. And I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night....

Ebola is pretty nasty. The "body fluids" stuff you hear is true and bad thing is Ebola has a very high viral titer in all fluids, not just blood. HIV on the other hand has a relatively low viral titer by comparison.

My worry is that most models are based on sub Sahara African village infections where no one really leaves in their life and air travel is such a luxury it's almost not a factor. Now many folks go back to visit relatives and come right back (the Dallas case) and all the workers that are walking in to a bad situation maybe not appreciative of how fast this can get out of control.

All that said, the burn rate of Ebola is extremely high so it can never be like "Spanish Flu" or others. Unless it mutates to air born. If it does:
-They in no way are going to tell you that
-Not much any of us can do

Overall, be aware, but I don't think heavy concern is warranted here except about the inept CDC and government we have. None of that is new.
