He told since it happen long and my age it may not be 100% but he did say there should be no pain when done. I had the surgery done. Their was only 3 small cuts on my shoulder. After about 6 weeks when I was bale to move my arm there are no pain but my arm movement is 95% of normal.
I am glad the i had the surgery done. I now can raise and bend my arm with no pain

Same with me suffered for about a year and finally told them to cut me open. They found bone spur about 20 mm long that never showed up on MRI or xrays. They said they would have found it when it would have cut completely through rotator cuff.
I was about 55 yrs old. This was 10 years ago and no problems, 100% movement back but took about a year for it to come back. Glad I got fed up and told them to operate. You will have plenty more aches and pains, get them fixed. I am now dealing with lower back pain which has far less success rates through surgery.
