I spent the morning with Chrysler engineers at our track and a '15 SRT 392. A Hellcat scheduled to be here puked its power steering. The numbers they told me they achieved with the Hellcat Charger are really going to surprise people.

I can tell you this much, driving the SRT 392 on a road course was actually very fun. Yes it is heavy, but it never feels like it works against you.The handling is very neutral, and pushes slightly on entry, but can be nudged to oversteer with lift throttle or a brake squeeze at the right time. Throttle induced oversteer is very easy to control and modulate as I was able to hold a long slide through consecutive right-left-right turns.

I was impressed with the brakes as well. 15.4" two piece rotors on front with 6 piston calipers and 4 pots out back. The prototype I drove did not even have the adjustable suspension, just a slightly softer setup than the stiffest setting. The auto trans will upshift and downshift smartly and quickly.

To quote "This is the car no one asked for, but we did it anyway!"
