According to FuelEconomy.org The FR-S in manual does get better gas mileage. 22/30 instead of 17/28.

As for looks they are subjective. Some people hate the look of the Camaro and love the look of the FRS, but that shouldn't matter since you buy what you like not what others like.

FR-s is lacking on HP/TQ but it is light so I'm sure that some mods will make up for it really quick.
