I agree with an earlier poster who wondered why Ford would target the Boss when nearly every test has shown the 1LE to be faster around a road course. To my best recollection, Ford has not mentioned Camaro, or even Chevy, in any way when talking about the new Mustang, and even the last generation of the car. They have consistently mentioned BMW M3, and now mentioned the 911 as performance references.
GM makes no bones about it with the Camaro, they target the Mustang and Challenger. It could be because GM has Corvette to fight the battle with the other imports and Ford has no such halo car.
To me, a lifelong Mustang fan who has owned a few Camaros and Trans Ams over the years, it has been Mustang vs Camaro since 1967. I think Ford needs to stop pretending that the Camaro isn't the real opposition. If Chevy and Ford battle each other and take out BMW and others along the way, all the better for we the fans!
