Thats so compltely 100% not true. Firstly you can modify your car however you'd like as long as it passes all emissions and safety standards for its vehicle type and year. Secondly there are plenty of topless 500+ HP cars road legal in the US, including the Viper (600 HP), the Murcielago LP640 roadster (640 HP), the new Audi R8 V10 Version (518 HP)will be as well, and the Porsche Carerra GT (605 HP). The McLaren SLR Stirling Moss Edition which is what i think you're referring to is extremely limited production and because it doesn't have a windshield won't pass US crash standards, hence its not being brought here.
