I appreciate the offer Mydivorcegift. I know how to weight train. I took Weight Training, Body Mechanics (calisthenics), & Kinesiology in college & try to stay pretty up-to-date on new things that have been learned since then (since that was soooooooooooooo long ago). I have a wide variety of sizes of dumb bells and know how to use them.
Let me clarify what I mean when I say I need a class. To me the class is not just for the exercise. It is also important for me for social/emotional support, motivation & to have others pushing me. I need the routine of a time & place I am expected to be & friends who I know I will see & enjoy the company of while there. I need the instructor pushing me harder than I will push myself. On my own I will quit sooner, I just will. I know myself that well. Without the class I will make a million excuses not to do it or to do less of it. I truly have no appropriate space at home. I have absolutely no space to do any cardio stuff unless it is bearable weather outside.
I can drag my mat out, lay it in the middle of the living room floor blocking the path through the room. That is what I will end up doing. I'll get up early, before my husband and I will do it. I have done it before. I will make progress. I have done it before. But it will not be as much progress or as fast as I would do if I had a class or a personal trainer or something like that. and I will not have the social support I need. That is part of the reason I started the thread. I need you guys to push me.
