Hey guys, I've been reading here on and off for a bit now and I've learned quite a few things already
I do not currently own a Camaro, but I will be purchasing one in the near future for a project. After riding in (and driving) my friend's 2014 1LE I am simply in love with the cars and I always have to be different of course...
Anyway, down to the details... The plan is to order a base model 2015 Camaro (a custom color is strongly prefered, but I'm not certain on GM's ability to do that anymore), no options and get it to my shop with as few miles as possible on it. Then I will be pulling the engine/transmission out and swapping in a 2006 Duramax/Allison. Plans are to run a parallel twin turbo setup and an adequately built transmission of course. 700hp should be attainable without major work, and without loosing any drivability. Keeping all the gauges functional, and everything as stock, or stock appearing as possible is a must. Of course I plan on improving handling as much as I can, as I would like to take this on a road course when it's all done.
I know there will be a lot of hurdles to clear, but I enjoy a challenge and I've always wanted to work with a brand spanking new vehicle. I'll be sure to start a build thread the day I order the car, which I'm thinking of in the spring.
