Statements regarding the ZL1 being a more balanced, sophisticated package? check.
Statements that 700 HP is the easy part? check
I do not see the ZL1 or Z/28 as half efforts by Chevrolet so I have faith for the G6. At the same time, I didn't see Chevy building a street legal bracket racer either. I expect a G6 Z/28 (no ZL1) with optional auto and convertible (like C7 Z06) with the LT4 that is hell on the Ring and drag strip.

1/4 mile time will not be the primary concern.
Note that the car I described is the ~p2w of the old GT500! And if you think Ring times don't matter, the GT350 over there right now says otherwise. And, if you don't hear of a faster than Z/28 Ring time, Ford can't do it
