Actually they are pretty good and right on par with projections.
For the 2014, Chevy SS has sold 1,903 units so far, averaging no less than 200 cars a month
Chevrolet SS U.S. Sales 2014
January-232
February-283
March-350
April-283
May-297
June-217
July-241
Total-1,903
Now while those numbers are not mindblowing, the ARE within projected sales estimates and deemed a success
Quote:
Because of this limited supply, SS allocation will be based on a dealer’s Corvette and Camaro sales.
Still, Chevy doesn’t expect the SS to be a volume seller, and if it manages to sell somewhere in the range of 1,700-2,000 units annually then it’ll be declared a success.

Now let's take a look at a REAL sales flopper, the SRT Viper
Dodge Viper U.S. Sales 2013
February-1
March-3
April-60
May-65
June-97
July-94
August-61
September-45
October-69
November-41
December-55
Total-591

U.S. Sales 2014
January-47
February-44
March-67
April-97
May-63
June-36
July-46
Total (so far)-400
That's a far cry from the 2,000/yr they had projected
From 2013
Quote:
Gilles had originally said Viper production would be limited to 2,000 vehicles per year, but he said today that number proved optimistic.
Production was originally to be limited to 2,000 units per year. Chrysler built 805 Vipers for the 2013 model year.
Since the first sale was recorded in February, Chrysler has sold 426 Vipers in the United States. This doesn’t sound so bad until you learn that dealers have another 565 currently in stock. That equates to a 289-day supply of unsold cars. Yipes!

From 2014
Quote:
Demand for the latest SRT Viper is currently so weak, that Chrysler has decided to stop production of the V10 sports car for at least two months. In the first two months of this year, just 91 cars were sold.
Given that SRT had 756 unsold Vipers at the beginning of March, you can see the logic behind suspending production.
