No, 100% true. Design is only half the package. If you design a car that looks amazing but lacks performance metrics like power or fuel economy it will flop.
Honestly, I think you're so desperately hung up on the 5th gen that you can't see anything past it, including the glaring flaws the car has that need corrected. So whatever.
