As for the price, the crate 5.8 Trinity I found was $31k. If Ford was capable of building a one off, low volume engine for the GT500, GM surely could have used thr LS9 in not one, but 3 cars and get thr price down.

Ok, so the Camaro got a few minor pieces before the C7 Corvette got redesigned. They probably didn't want to re-engineer the dampers for two model years on the C6.

The Z/28 is an anominly. One car in a long history of GM keeping a large gap between the two cars. For the performance goals of the car, they really didn't have a choice. And then they charge you enough for it. Not saying they overcharged. I think the Z/28 is still a value for the performance offered.
True. GM develops and holds longer than Ford. Consider that it was 2009, what power levels were, the state of GM and the US economy. Thankfully they're not running the G5 platform 10 years like G2-4.

The new acceleration benchmark is 11.2sec 1/4. If Ford answers, Chevy's recent behavior suggests they will match and slightly exceed.

We now know the GT weighs 3,729. What do you predict a GT500 weigh and how much power to hit 11.2 1/4 minimum?

I saw you predict the G6 SS will weight 3,700 lbs or less. Where would that put the ZL1 weight and time in the 1/4 mile wars?
